The Safaricom Power Hour is a monthly event where women listen to discussions on issues that are close to their hearts as well as network with their contemporaries.
Hosted at the Michael Joseph Centre on Waiyaki Way in Nairobi on Wednesday evening, this month's edition focused on the joys of single motherhood.
The panel included Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, TV presenter Victoria Rubadiri and Orion Foundation's Founder Mary Warigia. It was moderated by news anchor Uduak Amimo. Karua encouraged women who are raising their children on their own to take heart and move forward.
“Don't look back like Lot's wife. If you are a single mum keep moving forward,” she said. In attendance were the Judiciary's former chief registrar Gladys Boss Shollei, Unilever's human resource director Africa Stella Atela and fashion consultant and actress Chichi Seii.
